HI,I was wondering if all of the icons on the desktop at start up need to be on at start up,i thought i saw somewhere that you could put them in a folder and bring them out just when actually needed them.

I reason i am asking is it takes 2 to 3 minutes to get to my home page or is this a normal length of time to get to home page

2 or 3 minutes in the scheme of things is no biggy you know its like seeing PYHILLS  DILLER screaming at a microwave to go

faster,THANK YOU

IMO and IME...it's normal for XP to take 1-3 minutes before the desktop is fully displayed.  Users aren't allowed to do anything until the networking is properly setup...so seeing the icons sooner would not accomplish much, if anything, IMO.

The only real variable in startup speed, assuming that nothing is wrong, would be the number of programs set up to unnecessarily begin running at boot.

Desktop icons and internet home page aren't related. Unless I'am reading
this wrong.

You can Create a folder on the desktop and drag all the shortcuts/icons into it.

As Louis said it wouldn't change anything.
