My Dell E520 has a Sapphire Radeon 5570 HD video card. Its been running fine for about a year and a half. Last week, my resolution went from 1600 x 900 max to 1280 x 1024 max. What could be the deal? Windows hasnt updated, same video driver. I've tried other cables. I have a DVI cable which I've always used, I've tried a VGA cable. Still the same resolution. I had my VGA cable on the video card to monitor and started in Safe Mode and my resolution went from 800 x 600 to 25xx x XXXX. I've never seen it that small. I liked it. Then went back to normal mode and the max was 1280 x 1024. Any suggestions? I can't afford another graphics card right now.
