I Keep Getting This Error Message,,please Help

The MFC42.DLL file is linked to missing export KERNEL32.DLL:DelayLoadFailureHook... trying to open programs and this is not allowing me too... any help would be greatly appreciated,,THANX IN ADVANCE!

Running on Windows 98....

Have you installed something new recently? It appears that one of the causes of this is installing programs that arent' compatible with W98, such as Windows Media Player 7 or newer, or Microsoft Windows Server 2003 Service Pack 1 (SP1)-based fax server.

Yes, I was downloading something and when it went to open it, it started giving me this message.. is there anyway to fix it? Thanx for all the help.

Uninstall what you downloaded from Control Panel -> Add/Remove Programs.
