Hi I loaded dvd cloner and ran it  and found that my cd/rom reg files where corrupted. I then tried to restore using Reg hunter restore point before the installation.

I now have this problem :   Startup repair cannot repair this computer automatically

problem event startup offline

problem signature 01; 6.1.7600.16385

                             02;  6.1.7600.16385

                             03; unknown

                             04; 21200314

                             05; auto fallover

                             06; 12

                             07; corrupt file

OS version           6.1.7600.2.0.0.256.1

Locale  I.D.          1033

I can get via f8 to safe menu how ever it goes back to Startup repair

I cannot get a disc image either I have also tried system recovery disc and boot media

The problem starts at the launch of windows not the bootup

Diagnostic showed no errors

I would go into safe mode...uninstall the optical drive...reboot.

DVD Cloner

Is the above the software you refer to?  What was the exact error message you received...which leads you state that your optical drive reg files are damaged?  Did you consider the possibility that the software installed is the problem?
