This is my first post. I've tried suggestions from other posts, but nothing has worked and my problem sounds different.
Problem: Random Freezing. No lag or slowing down warning, just non responsive mouse and keyboard and frozen screen. Happens after a while or immediately when starting. Has frozen even before loading windows to desktop and also at the shut down screen. I'm always forced to pull the power cord since nothing happens even after hours of being left alone.
Things I've done:
Replaced the HDD.
Fresh Vista install.
Virus/Malware, etc checks are clean.
CHKDSK finish with no issue.
Changed mouse and the USP port used for mouse and got an OK from Windows.
Turned power settings to NEVER turn things off (screen saver, sleep, etc).
I got this from Speccy. I have 4GB of RAM, but I was swapping sticks to test them and didn't put one back in before this.
