HIGHLY CONCERNED: My computer detected an IP adress conflict

I DO NOT share my network, I recently found I was in a home group, but dont use that (I think windows does that by default). Here's a picture of the warning I just received. Is this a cause for concern?rh4rjd.png

It's not an uncommon message. An IP address is not only assigned to a computer but other hardware devices connected to it, i.e. printer, router, etc.

Get help with "There is an IP address conflict" message

To fix this problem, run Network Diagnostics.

Open Network Diagnostics by right-clicking the network icon in the notification area, and then clicking Diagnose and repair.


If using Windows 7, right-click on the network icon and choose Troubleshoot Problems.

Doing the above is probably the easy thing to try first.
