HP Pavilion Windows 7 Home Premium  64 bit

Is the Product ID also the Product Key?

The Product ID has the "OEM" ...does the Product Key?

If they are different, how do i find the Product Key?

How do I find my IP address?

I'm using AT&T 2-wire Router.

And advice & suggestions regarding my setup below will be appreciated.

I don't use a Password at bootup since the beginning.

How do I find, create or change a Password?

With HP Pavilion I remember that there was a combination of keys to create, change or find what the password is.

I don't remember the combination of keys used.

I might be mistaken will this....purchased in 2010.

I set up my computer with this back then -- you think I should make changes?

Computer name: mik1                 (example name used here...I used "1" after the name.

Full Computer name: mik1

Computer description: mik's computer

How do I find what is my Administrator Name that I gave in 2010?

I think its diferent then the one's listed above.

Back in 2010 during my First Time Setup it might have beenwithout the "1" in the name..such as with the "mik" example.

I'd like to verify these names and passwords and Product Key, etc etc.

I'd appreciate any suggestions for security is ok with me.

My computer experience is not very much especially with troubleshooting and searching for the above information.

Step-by-step to find what I'm looking for and make any changes regarding your suggestions would be very helpful.

Ask me any questions

With much appreciation, strum101

The product Id is generated during install and tells Microsoft what version (pro, home premium, Ultimate) and type of installation of Windows is installed. The OEM in the PID means the Licensing is OEM and Windows is activated automatically by the Bios certificate. The COA sticker is your proof of licensing and it can be used to activate Windows when reinstalling if you do not use your factory recovery or install media. To find your ip address type ipconfig at the command prompt. To find you WAN ip use whatismyip.org To change your password press ctrl + alt + del and select change password. If you do not have to enter one to log in then the current password is blank. If you have changed your username since the first setup (not created a new user account) the original name will be under c:\users.
