So, after installing Kaspersky PURE 3.0 (originally had Internet Security, removed that in favour of installing PURE) onto the computer I'm using right now, there's been a very odd issue: unplugging any keyboards or gamepads crashes the computer, and so does a variety of other random USB devices. I'd like to be able to fix this without having spend $100 or so on a computer repair shop. Can't remove Kaspersky, either, I'm a user of this PC, not the owner, that would be my father, and he's not willing to remove it since it was around $120 for PURE w\ 3 liscenses. Any idea how to fix this?

Here's the info that BluescreenView gave me, important parts highlighted:

Hi -

Please post a snapshot with Speccy for more system details -
How to Publish a snapshot with Speccy <<-- Full Directions Here(only post the link)

Has there only ever been a single BSOD, as this is just a side line of the "Pure" install -

This may be solved with a simple Reboot, while BSOD problems are usually 3 or 5 episodes.

Please download BlueScreenView from Nirsoft (in zip file)

  • Extract (right-click > Extract all) the contents of bluescreenview.zip.
  • Double-click on the BlueScreenView.exe file, to run the program. (No installation is required.)
  • When scanning is done (usually complete by the time the interface appears), go ...
  • Edit > Select All
  • File > Save Selected Items, and save the report to your Desktop as BSOD.txt.
  • Close the BlueScreenView window... ... ...
  • Open BSOD.txt using Notepad and go ... .... ..
  • Edit > Select All
  • Edit > Copy, and then paste the entire contents of the text file into your next reply.

All records of Blue Screens and these 2 items also provide a heap more information.

Hi! Thanks for the help. No, this problem has been happening multiple times. Everytime a keyboard, gamepad, or some other devices are unplugged (I don't remember what else triggers the BSOD, but those are the main two) a BSOD occurs. They also happen randomly, and with same\similar errors. I've rebooted quite a few times and nothing has gotten better. :c

What operating system? Win 7? And it appears that it's USB related, correct? Have you tried to un-install Kapersky to see if things return to normal?

Hi -

Has every one of the errors occurred only since you installed Kaspersky ??

If the answer is Yes, you need to uninstall Pure, as it is not suited to your computer.

Download Security Check by Screen317 from HERE
* Save it to your Desktop.
* Double-click SecurityCheck.exe
* Follow the onscreen instructions inside of the black box.
* A Notepad document should open automatically called checkup.txt; please post the contents of that document.
Note: If a security program requests permission to access the Internet, allow it to do so.

Re-do the Speccy, because it should look like http://speccy.piriform.com/results/3j6GHf2p0gLaKAWtBp7xERu

Thanks -

Windows 7, yes. It's USB related. I have yet to uninstall Kaspersky.
