Advise on processor speed.

Looking for a bit of advise, I have got it down to 2 Dell PC's, both refurbs off ebay, one is a Pentium D Dual core 2.8GHz x 2 = 5.6GHz and the other is core 2 Duo, emailed about the speed of the core 2 duo and the reply was...It will be 1.8ghz minimum, which will be the best / faster out of the 2.  Thank you in advance.

Core2Duo is most likely going to give you the better performance, it is a bit newer other than that either will be mediocre for anything other than word processing/old old games
