Unfortunately, I have to write in this Forum to have some help on a issue that has occurred the past two days roughly, at least one that has been noticeable. I am not sure how long this has been causing issues or if at all.

Currently, I have an error on my desktop right when I log on/at start up. I actually read around already, asked a friend that knew some basic knowledge how to clean computers etc. I am actually a person pretty aware of some in-depth things but even someone knowledgeable can make a mistake which I think I have.

This error says exactly, at the top bar part of the pop up, ''AvastUI.exe - Application Error'' and at the middle part '' The instruction at 0x77a101b8 referenced memory at 0x00000050. The memory could not be read. Click on OK to terminate the program.'' Then at the bottom '' OK'' appears.

I did exactly that, I attempted to terminate the program via the ''OK'' button and it did not work. I then attempted the X button, it did not work. I did this 5 times in a row on each, continued to pop up on screen.

After that I ran CCleaner registry cleaner as well as the browser cleaners. None of that helped. I then ran PC Cleaner, that said it helped but it also did not. I then removed PC Cleaner because I was not familiar with the program and thought any non-known programs I should remove.

The avast I have is downloaded actually from PirateBay with a crack for register liscense. I don't mind using free avast but I thought Pro would help more. It was downloaded from a trusted green sign that they have on the site in their verification process but whether or not it really was safe, is my guess as good as any other.

After all this I went into task manager multiple times throughout and tried to remove it. I then ran combo fix in none-safe mode on the computer, restarting my computer multiple times throughout these processes to make sure it attempted to run cleanly. Nothing changed, I then booted safe mode with internet, did Malware Bytes after downloading from this site, ran that, found somethings/malwares supposedly and removed those. Did not help still remove this error, then I did another combofix run and nothing again.

Not sure if there is still a bug, if it is infected badly or I'm just missing something somewhere.  After all that, I then did another run of Task manager and nothing changed, I then did RUN CMD task kill and it would not task kill avast. It said the file could not be found. I don't remember the direct message for that one unfortunately.

So after all this I also checked my properties for my computer for administrative rights and my System and Admin has it but my user account does not have full permission rights and when I run administrative, it doesn't do anything.

I tried uninstalling the program throughout and nothing happened unfortunately it re-appeared some how. I cannot remember exactly when throughout this process I tried uninstalling because I did it a few times so re-tracing back this is a bit difficult. It will not uninstall either as well as I attempted to repair the program, update the program and nothing happened.

Sorry for the trouble. Oh and during the combofix runs, I think did not help at all because during them, avast would not shut off and interrupted the program I think.

Oh, I am running Windows 7  -  Any other information needed please ask.

Since you ran Combofix...

Please follow the instructions in THIS GUIDE starting at Step 6. If you cannot complete a step, skip it and continue.

Once the proper logs are created, then make a NEW TOPIC and post it HERE. Please include a description of your computer issues, what you have done to resolve them, and a link to this topic.

If you can produce at least some of the logs, then please create the new topic and explain what happens when you try to create the log(s) that you couldn't get. If you cannot produce any of the logs, then still post the topic and explain that you followed the Prep. Guide, were unable to create the logs, and describe what happens when you try to create the logs.

It would be helpful if you post a note here once you have completed the steps in the guide and have started your topic in malware removal. Good luck and be patient.

If HelpBot replies to your topic, PLEASE follow Step One so it will report your topic to the team members.

Hello,

Now that you have posted a log here: http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/forums/t/514982/avastuiexe-application-error-virus/ you should NOT make further changes to your computer (install/uninstall programs, use special fix tools, delete files, edit the registry, etc) unless advised by a MRT Team member, nor should you ask for help elsewhere. Doing so can result in system changes which may not show in the log you already posted. Further, any modifications you make on your own may cause confusion for the helper assisting you and could complicate the malware removal process which would extend the time it takes to clean your computer.

From this point on the MRT Team should be the only members that you take advice from, until they have verified your log as clean.

Please be patient. It may take a while to get a response because the MRT Team members are EXTREMELY busy working logs posted before yours. They are volunteers who will help you out as soon as possible. Once you have made your post and are waiting, please DO NOT make another reply until it has been responded to by a member of the MRT Team. Generally the staff checks the forum for postings that have 0 replies as this makes it easier for them to identify those who have not been helped. If you post another response there will be 1 reply. A team member, looking for a new log to work may assume another MRT Team member is already assisting you and not open the thread to respond.

Please be patient. It may take several days to get a response but your log will be reviewed and answered as soon as possible. I advise checking your topic once a day for responses as the e-mail notification system is unreliable.

If HelpBot replies to your topic, PLEASE follow Step One so it will report your topic to the team members.

To avoid confusion, I am closing this topic. Good luck with your log.
