Getting BSOD when I touch mouse touchpad.  Uninstalled Synaptics driver and reinstalled (off manufacturers website - Fujitsu U772 Ultralite).  But same problem remains.

Bluetooth mouse works fine.

What should I do?

I'd try to update the bluetooth mouse drivers, especially if it is a Logitech.

I'd try to update the bluetooth mouse drivers, especially if it is a Logitech.

Their problem is with the Synaptics touch pad, "The bluetooth mouse works fine". :thumbup2:

I apologize for not getting back to you sooner.

Please download SeaTool for DOS.

When the SeaTools for DOS website opens click on I Accept, then click on the Download button in step #4.

This download is a ISO image which you will need to burn to a CD in order to create a bootable disc with which to run the diagnostic tests.

To burn this ISO file to a CD or DVD please downlaod ImgBurn and install it.

Insert blank CD or DVD into your CD/DVD drive.

Open ImgBurn, and click on Write image file to disc.

Right click on the Start orb startorb_zps06e1f985.png, then click on Downloads.  Scroll down to the SeaTools for DOS download and click on it.  This will load the ISO image, you will see the information listed as it is in the image below outlined in red.

Click on the blue arrow (also outlined in red) to start burning the bootable CD.

Once the disc is created load it in the CD/DVD drive and restart the computer.

Please note:  You may need to change the boot order in the BIOS so the CD/DVD-ROM is the first device in the boot order, and the hdd is the second device.

Please run the long test and include the results in your next post in this topic.

Did what you said, and got the CD created.  Rebooted (from the CD) and SeaTools opened up fine.

But not much joy after that.  The attached screenshot (taken with my iPhone) is self explanatory.

Where to from here?

SeaTools for DOS will run on all hdds, but it may not recognize the hdd.  This is because of the way the storage configuration is set in the BIOS.

If the motherboard has a Intel SATA controller the storage configuration for SATA must be set to AHCI.

If the mohterboard has a Marvel SATA controller the storage configuration for SATA must be set to IDE.

The motherboard has an Intel SATA controller (see attached screenshot of Device Manager) and the storage configuration for SATA was (and remains) set to AHCI (see attached iPhone screenshot of the BIOS Setup).

So ... keen to know what's next!

Run the SeaTools scan.  I would suggest running the long test.

Believe me, my friend, I really do want to run the SeaTools scan.

However, the problem I mentioned (Nov 25) hasn't gone away i.e. SeaTools opens, but it has no functionality - as per the iPhone screenshot (attached) and I just don't know how to deal with that.

Please help.

In post #8 I explained that you may need to change the storage configuration so that SeaTools will be able to recognize the hdd.

Notice:  SeaTools for DOS will run on all manufacturer's hard drives, but may not recognize the hard drive if the Storage Configuration is not set in a configuration which SeaTools will recognize.

If the motherboard has a Intel SATA controller the storage configuration for SATA must be set to AHCI.

If the mohterboard has a Marvel SATA controller the storage configuration for SATA must be set to IDE.

To determined how your storage is configured open the Device Manager and click on IDE ATA/ATAPI controllers. This will expand the tree allowing you to see your storage configuration.

If you need to change the configuration you will have to go into the BIOS to make the change.

Then in Post #9 I explained that I had been to Device Manager and confirmed that the motherboard has an Intel SATA controller and the storage configuration for SATA was (and remains) set to AHCI.

So given that the config. is correct, I'm not sure what to do.

From what you have posted regarding the mouse working I gather that with it you can boot into Windows and operate normally?

If this is the case, type diskmgmt.msc in the Search programs and files box and press Enter.  Do you see your hdd with the operating system in there?

Another potential cause for this type of error is the graphics driver, try uninstalling and reinstalling the driver from the Intel download website.

Yes, the computer works fine ...  except for the Synaptics touchpad mouse.  If I touch or click that mouse I get BSOD immediately.  Using the bluetooth mouse there is no problem, but I really want to get the touchpad working again.

So I ran diskmgmt.msc and yes, the hdd is there and it seems fine.  Screenshot attached.

As for uninstalling and reinstalling the  graphics driver ...

I have downloaded the latest driver from Intel.  But I'm scared to uninstall the existing driver (before installing the new one).  If I uninstall the existing driver, will I still have graphics?  Will I be able to see stuff on the screen?  Excuse my inexperience.
