Hi there. I'm trying to get the windows xp loading screen reverted from SP2 to the first SP while using SP2 by replacing the first ntoskrnl.exe with the one that's used in SP2. It didnt work well though.

So I wonder if there's a manually way to do this without any third party software editor, like by editing boot.ini or adding any parameters into the file.

It's a customization question with low priority so take your time answering the more urgent questions before struggling with this one.
I've backuped all important files and I've also got the installation cd at hand so it should be no problem messing around though.

Do you just want to change the image that you see whilst it loads?

That's almost it, thanks for the link.  A bit more specific though what I'm looking for is the sp1 xp logo with the yellow loading bar instead of the blue/green one, that is the original sp1 instead of the sp2 one: http://www.themexp.org/xp-boot-screens/computer-os-boot-screens/original-windows-xp.

I thought it would be handy to just copy the sp1 ntoskrnl.exe and modify it somehow to just include some parameters regardning the boot screen logo and its animation, then upgrade to sp2 and modify the current ntoskrnl.exe somehow to get it work. But if it's too complicated I guess I could download the boot screen if there's any available on the internet
