Had a client bring in a Windows 7 Ultimate O/S laptop drive today that had been encrypted with BitLocker. The drive has crashed but he wants to retrieve a couple of folders from it. (No this is not the CrytptoLocker virus). He has the appropriate passwords, etc. My thoughts were to put the drive in an enclosure then use my windows 8 laptop to access his drive after turning on bitlocker in control panel. Doesn't seem to work though. Is this because we are not using the TPM chip in his laptop? Any ideas what we can do?
