My old desktop finally gave up. The motherboard I think and the replacement an 'MSI Global – Mainboard - K9N SLI Platinum' isnt made anymore. The symptoms of failure are exactly the same as in a previous breakdown so it's almost certainly the same problem and now unfixable. Problem is I'm a novice and what to get to meet my requirements defeats me. There are so many options! I want to run XP on one disk and W7 Home on another so that means being able to change the boot order in the Bios which I do know how to do. Also I want a fast processor to run games on and ways of connecting my sound system, ACER monitor, keyboard, flatbed scanner and printer. Most importently I want to run Autocad 2004 which I've discovered only works on 32bit systems hence the want of XP (apart from the fact that I hate W7 which I have on this laptop!).

My budget is loosely around £500 from Uk suppliers. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
