Hey guys,

I apologize in advance for the rookie post, but a friend sent me this piece of a script from one of his companies programs. I have no idea what this is written it.

He asked me to find out what it does, but I'm fairly certain that it does nothing but declare variables.

It seems to use the pound sign (#) for notes, and for some reason the word 'input' is before every variable.

Does anybody have any idea?  This one is a bit hard to Google, as I have nothing really to search for.

---------------------

#Inputs
input VAH = 0.00;#Hint VAH: Must be manually entered daily,
tinyurl.com/3mv
input POC = 0.00;#Hint POC: Must be manually entered daily,
tinyurl.com/3mv
input VAL = 0.00;#Hint VAL: Must be manually entered daily,
tinyurl.com/3mv
input Pivot = 0.00;#Hint Pivot: Must be manually entered daily,
tinyurl.com/3mv
input AutoPivots = yes;#Hint AutoPivots: Turns off pivot lines, value area stays on.

---------------------

Thank you, and sorry again for the noobish post.

-Baker

It is a trading bot script. The bigger question is why the need to embed 4 urls into the code snippet?

Thanks. It is in fact related to stocks. Can you explain to me how you figured this for my own knowledge?

Also, the urls are part of the hints.

The urls link to a forum, and for me the links were dead.

I pasted 'input VAH' into the search bar on my browser, and got http://www.shadowtrader.net/elite/value_area_script.txt as the first result. It seemed reasonable to conclude that it was a proprietary scripting language for a particualr trading platform.
