Are they still PDF's? If you start Adobe Reader and try to open the file does it give you an error that the file is corrupt? Will the PDF open on another computer?

If you open an affected PDF file with Windows Notepad, which will show you the ASCII code making up the file, do you see at the very beginning something like "%PDF-1.4%. If not, then you could have been hit with what hit my office.

The contents of all PDF's, DOC(x), XLS(x), PPT(x) files, to name a few here, have had their contents rewritten with random data by the bug. File name, creation date and size remains the same, but for instance Adobe Reader can't open the affected PDF file because it no longer contains PDF data; just junk. If you haven't got the files backed up somewhere, they're lost.

Anyways, something for you to check.

Hello, Do not run any Temp file or Registry cleaners.

Please follow this Preparation Guide, do steps 6,7 and 8 and post in a new topic.
