I have been receiving the message "The server's security certificate is revoked!" when trying to access certain sites in Google Chrome, most noticeably Facebook and Paypal. I encounter a similar problem when using Internet Explorer but not when using Firefox.

The full message reads: "You attempted to reach paypal.com, but the certificate that the server presented has been revoked by its issuer. This means that the security credentials the server presented absolutely should not be trusted. You may be communicating with an attacker.

You cannot proceed because the website operator has requested heightened security for this domain."

I suspect I have a malware infection but Norton 360 and various anti-spyware/malware programs have failed to solve the problem. Any help you can give me would be much appreciated.

My DDS log is as follows:

Do you have the latest Chrome version?
It's 31.0.1650.57 m

Execute the Fix It option on this page.

In Chrome's settings under the HTTPS/SSL do you have a certificate for PayPal.
It may be damaged. Remove it and go to PayPal and see if you can get in.
The new certificate should be installed.

Hi nasdaq, apologies for the late reply. I have checked the certificates and can't find one related to Paypal. However, I have reinstalled Chrome and am encountering the same problem. The issue is not just related to Paypal, it also happens with sites including Facebook and Soundcloud. I receive a similar message when using Internet Explorer but not with Mozilla Firefox.

Any further advice you can offer would be appreciated.
