Just tried to download AdwCleaner 3.0.1.2 from the BC site and Avast reports it as infected with Win32:Dropper-gen.  Tried the download from the General Changelog Team site and got the same response from Avast.  I note that there are reports on the General Changelog Team site that other antivirus products are also detecting virus infection of this file.

My guess is that its a false positive. Let me check a virustotal scan.

My Avast is not detecting AdwCleaner 3.0.1.2 as malicious, and I have the latest definitions. Try updating and then downloading again, as Grinler says it's a false positive. All the detections are generic anyway and based on the behaviour of the program.

Thanks for your quick response.  Obviously there's something in the code of the latest version that a few AV engines don't like.  Hopefully it'll be fixed in their next detection update.

Rechecked the file again following today's program and definition updates from Avast and no problems.
