Hi

A Windows file won't corrupted itself unless there is a reason. In my experience, about 80% of the time it is caused by a failing hard drive. Please run the DELL diagnostics and report whether it detects any errors.

Hi

DST means "Drive Short Test" which is a built in self test routine present on all modern hard drives. It failed means your hard drive is faulty and you should replace it.

Hi

It may be possible to fix damaged sectors using "Manufacturer's diagnostic tool (up to an extend). What is the brand of your hard drive ?.

Hi

Unfortunately "Toshiba" is the only one hard drive manufacturer who don't produce a diagnostic and repair tool. "Seagate" and "Western digital" does have very good diagnostic tool. The utility produced by "Toshiba" only works with a couple of their models which are currently not in the market.

Sorry mate, you need to replace the drive.
