Hello,

My tablet is a Coby Android Kyros,Model #MID7015  Ser.#052110070735...

I went into Coby for updates, but Coby went out of business.

All I get is a white screen that says Coby, and nothing else.

Also I heard the tablet needs to be rooted, what ever that is.

Is there any way I can update this tablet to get it to work,

or any programs or material I need to install?

If so,how would I go about doing it?

Thank-You,

Johngod

Hold both the silver return button on the front of the tablet AND the power button until you see the green Android robot standing next to a warning triangle. When you see these logos, let go of both buttons.

Press the silver return button by itself. The recovery menu should appear. To navigate the recovery menu, you use the home and menu buttons on the tablet. Home scrolls up and menu scrolls down.

Use the menu button to scroll down to "wipe data/factory reset." Use the silver return button to select this option. Another screen will appear. Use the menu button to scroll down to "yes -- delete all user data" and press the silver return button to select this option. The device will wipe the data and then it will return to the main recovery screen.

When it returns to the main recovery screen, "reboot system now" should be the option selected. Use the silver return button to select this option. The tablet will reboot.

That's it! This should return everything on the tablet to a factory, unmodified state.

Thank-You very much.

I should be able to log on to the internet, google, yahoo, facebook, etc. etc..

Should I do any thing else to update or upgrade?

Should I add anything which would make it run better system?

Am I right that Coby went out of business, and I can't update thru them any more?

Thank-You Again,

John

Nope, that's it.

Might want to put Lookout (or similar) on there.

Yes, Coby Electronics Corporation closed their doors this summer due to financial trouble.
