firefox 25 redirects to searchfusion search-engine

long story short i have the same problem as the OP in this link:


My symptoms are similar, if not extactly identical as his

what are some steps i should take in order to make sure my system is absolutely clean?

and on a side note, this happened while i was running avast antivirus(free version registered) and a malware anti-malaware pro(this one i purchased, hence the "pro" version)
both up-to-date today.

As stated in your link....You may have an ISP that automatically redirects you to a search page if a DNS look up fails.

That happened to me once and I changed DNS server to  Internet Security or DNS Service for your Business or Home - OpenDNS

You can scan your computer using the two programs in links below. Allow them to remove whatever they find. Post

the logs back here if adware is found.
