any time i try to open anything it open in download manager. i know it has something to do with  "open with" but how do i change it

Hi

 

This issue is caused by some changes happened to the "Windows registry". It is fixable but some manual work is required. Please read instructions from the below link for detailed step by step instructions.

that didn't work. when the computer starts it goes to what ever the open with program. also all the icons that are programs have the same icons.

Hi

 

Have you tried the registry fix described in "Let me fix it myself" section ?.  If that also didn't works, try restoring the system to a date prior to this happening.

yes i tried the "let me fix it". my sysstem restore only goes back to when it happen

Hi

 

There is another registry fix available which is slightly different than the one "Microsoft" provides. You can download it from the below link.

Uninstall the download manager program before applying the fix. It is always a good idea to create a system restore point before editing registry.
