Installed GP6 on a new HDD after the old one went belly up.  Installled Guitar Pro 6 and when you click for "Soundbanks" (songs which come with the program and will will play on GP6) program opens (documents) folder.  The GP6 logo still appears at  the bottom of the page, but cannot access the song files.  This is an area I know absolutely nothing about, and am afraid to try and fix it.

Am a noobie and would appreciate any help given.

In GP6, "Soundbanks" are the audio samples that allow Guitar pro to play realistic sounds when replaying the song. Are you getting confused between opening a song (.gpx file) and importing a soundbank (.gpbank file)?

The default soundbanks should have been installed with the software (and if you've purchased any of the additional soundbank packs they should be installed through the updater along with the associated licence files)
