I have a 2008 apple mac pro and was wondering if I could put the hard drive from it into my gateway Compaq notebook?

What would be the reasoning behind this? Does the 2008 Mac Pro work?

Can you provide the model number of the drive in the mac, so I can look it up for its specs.

Please download the Hitiachi Drive Fitness Test to perform a low level format on the drive. You will need to burn the image to a disk and set your compaq to boot from the CD.
