OK, this is a notebook a friend gave to me because it's doesn't boot.

Acer Aspire 7551-2755

17", 3gb RAM, 350 gb HD

AMD Athlon II P320 / 2.1 GHz

I push the power button, blue light comes on (button), power LED light comes on (front), hear short clicking sound coming from the DVD drive, PSU fan spins and blows air. Screen never shows anything...stays black. The notebook is not booting up at all, no sounds at all.

I've tried an external monitor, no luck.

I've tried booting with the battery in and out, no luck.

I've removed all memory modules, and tried different ones from a known working notebook, no luck.

I've removed the HD and extracted the data so I know the HD works.  There is power to the DVD as I can open the drive with the button.

I've tried booting with a boot disk in the DVD, no luck

I've exposed the MB, removed the BIOS battery for 15 min, replaced battery, no luck.

Anybody have any other suggestions?

Thanks

Chris
