A clients PC has cryptolocker on it, it infected the PC and the network shares. The client doesnt have a backup, so the randsom needs to be paid. It was paid by the customer already for the PC and the PC works fine, but most all of the documents on the server are still encrypted. There is no screen on the server that allows the client to pay the ransom on the server data. How do we get the data decrypted, if there is not a pop up from Cryptolocker?

You were suppose to map the network shares, pay, decrypt.

You might have to reinfect with the same virus.

Grinler (aka Lawrence Abrams), the site owner of BleepingComputer, has also created this tutorial:
CryptoLocker Ransomware Information Guide and FAQ

There is a lengthy ongoing discussion in this topic: Cryptolocker Hijack program.

Since this infection is so widespread, rather than have everyone start individual topics, it would be best (and more manageable for staff) if you posted any questions or comments in that thread.

Thanks
