I have a 2 month old HP Pavilion 17 Notebook that runs on Windows 8-64 bit. Recently I have been experiencing strange freeze ups and crashes. They have happened about 4-5 times and they have occurred at random occasions. This where things get weird. I ran a full scan with Malwarebytes and the scan suddenly stopped at exactly 53 minutes. I used the ctrl+alt+delete command to access my task manager and thats when the PC completely froze. I ran another full scan and it froze at 53 minutes again and resulting in my PC crashing. I then used Windows Defender and ran a full scan and sure enough the scan stopped as it was about to end and once again resulting in a complete crash. I finally tried using a quick scan with Windows Defender and it also stopped as it was about to end.
I cannot think of any other possibilities with my limited PC knowledge and I was hoping the wonderful people of Bleeping Computer can help me figure out this bizarre issue. I really cannot afford to have my brand new laptop become damaged from some stupid trojan.

I finally able to complete a quick scan using Windows Defender and it says I'm clean. I am still experiencing crashes however. I noticing that it crashes more frequently when I open Spotify.
