I have a friend's Sony VAIO with Windows Vista, infected with FBI Moneypak virus. I read over some forums on this site, and thought I could boot in safe mode with command prompt and attempt a repair via adding a new user. But, although I hit pf8 right after powering on, and I get to the screen that allows me to choose safe mode with command prompt, the drivers get listed/loaded, then the screen goes blank, then the Sony Vaio screen comes up. On that screen, I can either hit pf8 again, and choose safe mode/command prompt, or, if i do nothing, I get a normal boot of Vista with FBI Moneypak. I really need some direction.

Would someone have a suggestion ? Thanks !

This AM I found a thread discussing using Hitman Pro (by Lawrence Abrams on 7/5/2012) (updated 6/12/2013) I will look this over.
