I understand that all files in a temporary folder with extension .tmp can be safely deleted (the system will recreate them if necessary)

But about files in a temporary folder with other extensions like .exe, ini, inf etc?

thanks

Yes, you can delete all temp files.  Try Temp File Cleaner, you'll like it.

I am not talking about temp files.

I ask about non temp files : .exe, .inf, .dll etc in any temp folder.

Let me rephrase my response.  You can delete any files in the c: \windows \temp directory.  If you have installed any programs over the last last couple of days you should wait another week before deleting those files.  If you find file which will not be deleted it may be in use.

If you want a list of what you can an what you should not delete check out the article here.
