What makes you think the recovery partition is corrupted?

Did you try a tool such as Belarc Advisor? http://belarc.com/

Install, run it and there will be a section in the results which lists product keys.

What is going on with this computer that you need to use the system recovery?

Family and loved ones will always be a priority in my daily life.  You never know when one will leave you.
