I am currently freelancing for an architectural practice and over the last week more and more files on the server of various types from dwg's, pdf's .doc'c etc are becoming corrupted and not accessible.

No alerts or alarms have been picked up by anti virus but this is behaving very virus like and spreading from folder to folder

The IT firm that are on a retainer are 'stumped' and calling us back later.

I have asked people to copy the jobs they are working on to their local drives.

The server is running Windows Server 2003 R2 -

Any suggestions as to a first step to find out whats going wrong?

Many thanks in advance!

Oh no pc's accessing the server appear to have any viruses and they run a couple of types of antivirus including mcafee and microsoft essentials

Hello zesty

Let's get a deeper look at the machine.

Please follow this Preparation Guide, do steps 6,7 and 8 and post in a new topic.
Let me know if all went well.
