After uninstalling stuff, I find folders associated with the now gone item in my "program files" folder. Trying various applications(unlocker or killbox) to get rid of them doesn't work. Does anyone know an application or method to get those inused folders/files out?  I'm running out of hair on my head to pull!   Very frustrating. Thanks!

You could try Revo.  It is a great little program that will not only find leftover folders but also registry kets attached to a particular program.

Disclaimer: Do not remove keys from the Registry unless you know what you're doing. It could potentially render your machine useless.
