Posted 19 October 2013 - 08:13 AM

Found out about this virus last night and have since tried everything in my own knowledge to remove the bleeper.
It attaches itself to a process and I believe it is using my resources for btc mining though I am unsure. Wont let me run/install Avast even in safemode. I ran combofix in safemode and it failed to remove it, as did tdss killer. MBAM cannot find it, even after a full scan.
To my knowledge I will have only been infected for less than 50 hours as I am fairly computer adapt and notice when things are running at less than optimum.
I would just wipe my pc like normal except I cant be asked re-installing all the drivers again.

Thanks

Please download Farbar Recovery Scan Tool and save it to your desktop.

Note: You need to run the version compatible with your system. If you are not sure which version applies to your system download both of them and try to run them. Only one of them will run on your system, that will be the right version.
  • Double-click to run it. When the tool opens click Yes to disclaimer.
  • Press Scan button.
  • It will make a log (FRST.txt) in the same directory the tool is run. Please copy and paste it to your reply.
  • The first time the tool is run, it makes also another log (Addition.txt). Please attach it to your reply.
NEXT

We just need a scan to analyze first, so don't click the "clean" button if anything is found just yet.

Please download Malwarebytes Anti-Rootkit (MBAR) from here and save it to your desktop.

(Direct link to the file: http://downloads.malwarebytes.org/file/mbar)
  • Be sure to print out and follow the instructions provided on that same page.
  • Caution: This is a beta version so please be sure to read the disclaimer and back up any important data before using.
  • Doubleclick on the MBAR file you downloaded and approve the UAC prompt in Vista and newer operating systems.
  • Click OK on the next screen, to allow the package to extract the contents of the file to its own folder, mbar.
  • mbar.exe will launch automatically. On some systems, this may take a few extra seconds. Please be patient and wait for the program to open.
  • After reading the Introduction, click 'Next' if you agree.
  • On the Update Database screen, click on the 'Update' button.
  • Once you see 'Success: Database was successfully updated' click on 'Next'.
  • Click the 'Scan' button.
With some infections, you may see two messages boxes.
  • 'Could not load protection driver'. Click 'OK'.
  • 'Could not load DDA driver'. Click 'Yes' to this message, to allow the driver to load after a restart. Allow the computer to restart. Continue with the rest of these instructions.
If malware is found, do NOT press the Cleanup button when the scan completes. Click EXIT.
Then, please send the following logs as attachments to your reply.
These logs are located in the mbar folder on your desktop where the tool extracted itself to.

mbar-log-2013-xx-xx(xx-xx-xx).txt (where xx-xx(xx-xx-xx) is the date and time of the scan)
system-log.txt

Please run another scan with mbar.exe. You'll find it in the extracted mbar folder.

Double click mbar.exe to run it.
Check for Updates, then click 'Next'.
Click 'Scan'
When it has completed, click the 'CleanUp' button and allow the reboot if prompted.

Please attach the most recent mbar-log <date and time>.txt in your next reply.

(if it is too long - zip it up and attach it)

that should remove those infected files, once done, re-run FRST.exe and attach the new log, I want to make certain MBAR gets them all
