Hi all

I finally figured out how to get spanish accents on my keyboard AltGR + letter. I can now write é á í etc fine!

However, I can't seem to write the ñ character, even when using the Alt + 165  as suggested by all the google results.

I've even tried the UK extended keyboard.

Also, more pressingly perhaps, is that I can't write the # symbol. I use Alt + 3 (where the # is on the key above the number 3) but it gives me the british pound sign: £

How can I write these two characters without having do download some program or copying and pasting them from the internet! Thank you in advance

I don't have an answer for most of your topic. But you say this is a US keyboard and "Also, more pressingly perhaps, is that I can't write the # symbol. I use Alt + 3 (where the # is on the key above the number 3)".

Would not the # symbol on a US keyboard be Shift + number three key? Not Alt + number three key?

Thanks Bleepin' Animinion that works great for the # character. :clapping:

Now all I need to work out is how to type the ñ character!

THe correct sequence is the following:

alt+164 = ñ

alt+165 = Ñ

alt+0161 = ¡

alt+168 = ¿
