Behind my router I have a small network with to pc's, a printer and a NAS (Synology, DS 212j).

I make back-ups daily and when they are being written to the NAS one can see activity by green lamps at the front.

I'm frustrated about seeing these lamps burning sometimes for a while, when no back-up is working.

My worried question is: Is someone nosing into my NAS from outside my LAN, or is the NAS doing some householding activities?

In other words: Do I have to worry about disk activity when no back-up is active?

Thank you in advance for helping me out!
