Hi,

I was looking at  a friend PC and they said the £ was not working in DOS.
So I put the below keyb line in a DOS/command prompt, that worked.

keyb uk, ,c:\windows\command\keyboard.sys

But it seems it did not save.

So do I need to put the below in autoexec.bat which is currently empty

LH /L:2 C:\WINDOWS\COMMAND\KEYB UK,168,C:\WINDOWS\COMMAND\KEYBOARD.SYS

Use the following command at a DOS command prompt:

echo LH /L:2 C:\WINDOWS\COMMAND\KEYB UK,168,C:\WINDOWS\COMMAND\KEYBOARD.SYS>c:\autoexec.bat

In my old Win98SE computer I had:

Config.sys

DEVICE=C:\WINDOWS\HIMEM.SYS
DEVICE=C:\WINDOWS\EMM386.EXE
DOS=HIGH,UMB
DEVICEHIGH=C:\WINDOWS\COMMAND\display.sys con=(ega,,1)
Country=044,437,C:\WINDOWS\COMMAND\country.sys

FILES=99

Autoexec.bat

@ECHO OFF

rem Sound card

SET SOUND=C:\PROGRA~1\CREATIVE\CTSND

rem Sound card
SET MIDI=SYNTH:1 MAP:E MODE:0

rem Sound card
SET BLASTER=A220 I10 D3 H7 P300 E620 T6
MODE con codepage prepare=((437) C:\WINDOWS\COMMAND\EGA.CPI)
MODE con codepage select=437

LH KEYB UK,,C:\WINDOWS\COMMAND\KEYBOARD.SYS

rem Delete all files in the Windows\Temp folder on startup

Y|If Exist C:\Windows\Temp\*.* Del C:\Windows\Temp\*.* >Nul

437 is the UK code

Mine had a UK keyboard in DOS.
