About a week ago, my hp pavilion dv6 started to become unresponsive 30 minutes to an hour after startup. Any programs open would become unresponsive and I would be unable to open any new programs. At that point, I'm not even able to shut down or restart unless I hold the power button on my computer for four seconds. I've tried optimizing my hard drive but my computer never stays responsive long enough for it to complete. I've also tried locating the problem using my anti-virus software but nothing was found.

I would be really appreciative if someone could help with this problem
