Hey Folks,

First off, thank you for having this website offering help to people like me who is a average person when it comes to understanding computers. A few years ago, I came here and since then, my computer has been fine. At that time you guys asked me to download SuperAntiSpyware software and Malwarebytes Antimalware free editions. IN addition, I have the paid for version of AVG.

The other day, everything was working fine. That night when I shut down the computer for the night, Windows Update had several Essential Updates it said. So I did that and shut down. NExt day, I started up the computer and while doing that, it finished the updates. After that the computer lagged the whole time I was using it. I shut it down and the next day when I got on, the computer would not let me get on the internet using internet explorer and in the address bar it says:   ieframe.dll

In the internet connections, it says I am connected to network and right now I am using my mothers computer that can get on the internet so our internet is not down. I was able to run scans though using the software programs and on Superantispware it scanned and had a whopping 155 threats. Its never had that many. Most I remember is like 4-8 I think. The other programs AVG and Malwarebytes showed more too and supposedly it said they were healed and SUperantispyware said it removed them. Some are in the virus vaults I believe. I don't really know how to use those programs other than scan and press remove and then close. But still my computer will not let me get on internet. I hope this is not too long of a post and I don't know what to do at this point.

I would so incredibly appreciate if I can get some help on how to get my computer back to normal. It's always worked fine and I have no idea where I would have gotten the malicious spyware malware. Usually AVG warns me if I go to a bad site. So i'm puzzled about it.

p22002970.gif Download Security Check from here or here and save it to your Desktop.

  • Double-click SecurityCheck.exe
  • Follow the onscreen instructions inside of the black box.
  • A Notepad document should open automatically called checkup.txt; please post the contents of that document.

NOTE 1. If one of your security applications (e.g., third-party firewall) requests permission to allow DIG.EXE access the Internet, allow it to do so.
NOTE 2 SecurityCheck may produce some false warning(s), so leave the results reading to me.

p22002970.gif Please download Farbar Service Scanner (FSS) and run it on the computer with the issue.
  • Make sure the following options are checked:
    • Internet Services
    • Windows Firewall
    • System Restore
    • Security Center/Action Center
    • Windows Update
    • Windows Defender

  • Press "Scan".
  • It will create a log (FSS.txt) in the same directory the tool is run.
  • Please copy and paste the log to your reply.

  • DO NOT click on the Cleanup button. Simply exit the program.
  • When done, please post the two logs produced they will be in the MBAR folder..... mbar-log-xxxxx.txt and system-log.txt

p22002970.gif Please download Rkill (courtesy of BleepingComputer.com) to your desktop.
There are 2 different versions. If one of them won't run then download and try to run the other one.
You only need to get one of these to run, not all of them. You may get warnings from your antivirus about this tool, ignore them or shutdown your antivirus.

rKill.exe: http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/download/rkill/dl/10/
iExplore.exe (renamed rKill.exe): http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/download/rkill/dl/11/

  • Double-click on the Rkill desktop icon to run the tool.
  • If using Vista or Windows 7 right-click on it and choose Run As Administrator.
  • A black DOS box will briefly flash and then disappear. This is normal and indicates the tool ran successfully.
  • If not, delete the file, then download and use the one provided in Link 2.
  • Do not reboot until instructed.
  • If the tool does not run from any of the links provided, please let me know.

If normal mode still doesn't work, run the tool from safe mode.

When the scan is done Notepad will open with rKill log.
Post it in your next reply.

NOTE. rKill.txt log will also be present on your desktop.

NOTE Do NOT wrap your logs in "quote" or "code" brackets.

Thank you for the reply. How do I download those programs though when it will not let me connect to the internet when I go on internet explorer? I read somewhere that they tried to go into safe mode and that might let me get on the internet? I have not tried and do not know how or even if that is a solution. That is several programs but I would be happy to download them and do what you tell me I just don't know how I can get on the internet on my computer to download them. RIght now, I am using my mothers computer in the other room. That's how I know our router and internet is working because hers is wireless and working just fine.

Unfortunately not. We need to run some tools to see what's going on.

We can't fix something if we don't know what the problem is.

hi,

so i used my phones internet to try and figure out what is going on. i believe it is a redirect virus and i followed steps on a youtube video and am able to use internet now on my own computer but feel i still have not cured it based on;

http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/virus-removal/remove-tdss-tdl3-alureon-rootkit-using-tdsskiller

i am trying to download TDSS Killer and save it to my desktop like the article says but it will not let me. It will let me download it and scan but will not let me actually save the icon and program onto computer so does that mean the TDSS is not letting me. What do i do?

I actually don't know for sure if it is the redirect virus. I just know following what the video showed me to do, I am now able to get on the internet. But since it won't let me save the download of kaspersky TDSS Killer on my computer, I am thinking something still is not right.

My problem was my computer started acting slow one day, then the next day I would click internet explorer and could not get on the internet and it had ieframe.dll in the address bar.

Here is the Security Check results. When i clicked your link, I pressed save, but it did not save anything to my desktop. It just ran the check. What's up? Why won't it let me save anything to my desktop? It wouldn't let me save the TDSS Killer from Kaspersky either.
