The following is a quote from Microsoft Support.  Try what is suggested below, if this doesn't work there is a registry edit suggested, but this can be complex if you aren't familiar with the registry.

Method 1: Change the decimal symbol setting

This problem can occur if the decimal symbol is not set to '.' (dot). This is common in languages and locales other than English (United States), such as German (Germany).

To change the decimal symbol setting, follow these steps:

  1. Open Control Panel, click Clock, Language, and Region, and then click Region and Language.
  2. Click the Formats tab, and then click Additional settings.
  3. In the Decimal symbol field, type . (dot), and then click OK two times.
  4. Restart the computer.

Edit:  If you choose to try the registry edit and are familiar with editing the registry and are comfortable with doing this, feel free to do so.  But I would suggest backing up the registry first.  If a mistake is made in the process of making this edit it can render your computer inoperable.

How to backup Your Registry with ERUNT

  • Please download Erunt.
  •
  • For version with the Installer:  Use the setup program to install ERUNT on your computer.
  •
  • For the zipped version you will need a program like 7-Zip to unzip the file.
  •
  • Unzip all the files into a folder of your choice.
  •
Click Erunt.exe to backup your registry to the folder of your choice.

Note: to restore your registry, go to the folder and start ERUNT.exe

Go to the Start orb, click on All Programs, then click on Windows Update.

If an error has occurred, it will be displayed with an error code.  If there is an error code please include it in your next post.

The error you received when you ran the Fix it may not be indicative of what is going on.  Let's see what error code shows up for the failed updates.

Us the link below to go to Microsoft Support and download their System Update Readiness Tool and run it.

The downloads are listed under Resolutions.  You will need to know if your operating system is the X86-based system (32-bit), or the 64-based system (64-bit).

To determine which one you have click on the Start orb, right click on Computer, click on Properties.  This information will be listed on that page.
