Google Chrome comes with Adobe shockwave and flash. Mine seem to have disappeared. When I attempt to d/l it, Adobe tells me I have it, but its been disabled. Question...Can I safely uninstall and then re install. Oh, I have jumped thru all the hoops, tried many fixes. Help!!

To enable you type in the following in the address bar.

chrome://plugins/

Also what happened prior to this, and where are you getting this message from. Can you post a screenshot?

Hi Cryptodan,

I've done the chrome://plugins/ with no luck.No screenshot because the message flashes on and off in a second It tells me shockwave has been disabled and highlights chrome://plugins/.

The only thing I have done and this might help. I created a "dummy" gmail account for junk stuff. It showed too much of my personal info, so I deleted it. During the deletion, it asked if I was sure I wanted to delete. Said I would lose everything associated with it.I said yes. I appears that I've lost my bookmarks, except what I imported from IE. Could that have caused this sound issue? I can't find shockwave or flash in "my programs", but the message says it's disabled.

Is there a check mark the disabled under chrome://plugins for flash?

Also have you removed Chrome and tried reinstalling?

Deleting your gmail account and google account would not impact flash.

Solved ! My son solved it on one of his rare visits.

In chrome://plugins/  "always allow" must be checked. To the left of that the blue disable should stay.

I thought when I clicked disable and it switched to enable, I was doing it right.

Thank you Cryptodan for your help. I learned a lot.

You are welcome, and I learned something as well. I did not know it was supposed to be always allowed.
