I have a friends PC over here working on it.  IT was BSODing over and over and was SLOW.  Norton AV did not work well and there were several other recognizable bad-ware items installed.  Coupon printer, search protect, Help24x7.  Big mess.

I backed the data up with two of my of my backup tools.  Built a set of recovery disks (worried that they might be messed up by the root kit)

I uninstalled a bunch of un-needed software from the machine ran MBAM and cleaned all of the stuff there. Since Norton was failing I uninstalled it and installed MSE to start with.  MSE found the root kit and I ran the offline windows defender scanner boot disk and  it failed to fix the problem.

I then ran HitMan Pro and used it to clean the machine.  I ran AdwCleaner and JRT to clean up more of the mess.

MSE was still cranking away.  It was thrashing over 1.9 million files in the sysWOW64 mess of temp files that nothing deleted!  Also 27K cookies over there too.  So back to safe mode and delete all of that.  Reference here:

http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/protect/forum/mse-protect_scanning/mse-will-not-finish-running-due-to-too-many/62faaf40-0f99-4d36-a462-6e7a554da61b

.......

So I think it is almost clean but want to have someone check my work.  There is still something ticking away at the HDD all the time.  I am going to let the machine run for a while and see what happens.  The searchindexer and MSE are ticking away still.  I am attaching the DDS files and other logs as requested.
