Hi again, haven't posted here in 4 years :)

The problem is strange, I have never seen anything like it before, maybe some of you guys have.

First of all, system specs:

Motherboard: MSI K9N Neo V3 (MS-7369)

CPU: AMD Athlon 64 X2 5400+ with Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO installed

RAM: 2GB DDR2 (don't know exact model, I will check subsequently if it's important)

Graphics card: AMD Radeon HD 6670

Power supply: Chieftec CHP-450A

Hard drive: ExcelStor Jupiter J9250S

This machine's CPU has history of overheating, that's why I finally resorted to replacing the stock CPU cooler with Hyper 212 EVO.

Problem is the following:

I connected Seagate Barracuda ST3000DM001-1CH166 3TB, installed it properly I believe (read the guide, used Seagate Disc Wizard to install it etc), no problems so far.

Restarted the PC, then it stopped at this screen when tried to start:

anyx.jpg

Then i press DEL and get this:

dnrf.jpg

After that I restart my PC on the button, and system normally starts, both old and new hard disks normally works.

But still, I would like to resolve the thing.

Thank you very much for all your future answers, best regards,

Milan :)

Did you format it as one huge GPT drive...or did you break it up into smaller partitions?

Please download MiniToolBox  , save it to your desktop and run it.

Checkmark the following checkboxes:

List last 10 Event Viewer log

  List Installed Programs

List Users, Partitions and Memory size.

Click Go and paste the content into your next post.

Also...please Publish a Snapshot using Speccy - http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/forums/topic323892.html/page__p__1797792#entry1797792 , taking care to post the link of the snapshot in your next post.

It is a one huge 3000 GB GPT partition, yes, I didn't divide it.

Proceeding to doing stuff you told me to, then I'll return with results :)

Why didn't you partition 2 TB and 1 TB instead of a single 3 TB drive?

Possibly useful:  Everything You Need to Know About 3TB Hard Drives PCWorld - http://www.pcworld.com/article/235088/everything_you_need_to_know_about_3tb_hard_drives.html

I believe that some users had problems with GPT disks of 3TB...but I believe all those were situations where users were trying to use the disks to install Windows and related to Windows versions that were 32-bit.

Even though Win 7 is supposed to support GPT drives...I do notice that you employ the 32-bit version of Win 7.

Seen Information and Note at http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/26203-convert-gpt-disk-mbr-disk.html .

Thanks, that crossed my mind too (32 vs 64), but I was hoping there is other way to solve it than reinstaling the system, my CD drive seems to have gone broken couple weeks ago. >_<

Thanks for the links too.

It may be completely unrelated, but I had similar issue with a new WD hard disk. The hard disk was not recognized and when it did, it stopped in middle and froze Windows. So I had to clean the contacts of power cable coming from power supply and sata port on motherboard with a q-tip and dry alcohol. Connected the hard disk again and it has been working fine now.
