I am on Windows 7
I was trying to download Windows photo essentials, clicked on a google search ad and was careless with analyzing the website.
I installed a program called firseria.exe
Upon finished installation I realized somethig was off. My avast alarm sounded for a malicious website and I closed firefox.
On starting firefox again I noticed an IM toolbar, not google, and a change of my homepage.
I tried to disable the iminent firefox add ons and change my homepage. not sure if I was succesul.
I went to unistall programs and saw two rogue programs, i unistalled them. not much happned.
I went to HiJack this and my log is attached: hijackthis.log 14.57KB 0 downloads.
I ran malware bytes removal and it founfd 34 infected objects. I removed them and restarted my computer.
The loading time was siginificantly slowed. I had a plain black screen on for an above average time
On the Lower Right Hand corner it briefly stated that I had an "unlicensed?", I cant remeber the words, version of windows 7. I have never seen this text before. The text went away after the desktop came on.
The problem still was persisting. Here is also my updated hijackthis log AFTER running spyware removal: hijackthisAfterUsingMalwareRemoval.txt 13.32KB 0 downloads
I have uploaded a screen shot of my task manager in my next post as this one was too large to hold more attachments
I checked these registry values on trend micro: Checked Hijack This.png 343.91KB 0 downloads
I need to contniue working online and have deleted only those checked.
I went to unistall programs and saw iminent toolbar and uninstalled.
So this is where I am currently. I am cautious and worried about the registry values that I could not see as suspicious. Please help. I am a newbie affilaite marketer and my browing capabilities are paramount to my success.
