Hello, I have an Hp dv7 laptop. When I start up the computer I get a completely blank screen. I have turned it on and off a few times. One of the times when I pressed a bunch of buttons the screen would go fuzzy then back to blank. The caps lock button keeps flashing and that's about all the information I have.

Is there anything I can do?

or any Idea what the problem is?

Thanks,

Adam

Have you consulted your user manual to determine what the flashing caps lock means?

I actually never even thought of that, I almost didn't even put that detail in there.

It says it means the graphics controller is not functional.

not sure what that means?

That means the video card has failed time for a new computer.

Just wondering how much a decent video card would cost?

My friend just gave me this computer so if I can get it fixed for a reasonable price Id be willing to.
