In step 2 of the self-removal process I need to reboot my computer in safe mode with networking. I do that and soon after my computer logs me off and restarts. What gives?

I'll report this topic to appropriate helpers.

1. Please let us know what Windows version you have and if it's 32- or 64-bit.
2. Is the computer bootable in any mode?

Hold on there....

Windows 7, 64 bit.

I can log in normal and access files but it won't let me get on the internet at all. I try to boot via safe mode and it keeps, after logging in, quickly restarts the computer.

Hi there,

My name is Casey and I'll be helping you with your malware problems.

Since you can boot into Normal Mode, please follow the instructions in thist post http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/forums/t/34773/preparation-guide-for-use-before-using-malware-removal-tools-and-requesting-help/ but post the DDS logs here rather than in a new topic.

You will obviously need to download DDS on a clean PC and transfer to your infected PC.

Casey

If I have been helping you and I do not reply within 48hours, feel free to send me a PM.
