:welcome: to the Bleeping Computer forum.

Your issue seems to be probably caused by outdated storage controller driver.

BugCheck 9F, {3, fffffa800470c060, fffff88002f017f0, fffffa80046e8870}

*** WARNING: Unable to verify timestamp for iaStorA.sys
*** ERROR: Module load completed but symbols could not be loaded for iaStorA.sys
Probably caused by : iaStorA.sys

Please try the below steps.

:step1: Update Chipset driver.

1. If there is Intel Rapid Storage Technology driver installed in your system, please uninstall it completely first.

2. Download and install latest chipset driver from the below link.

    https://downloadcenter.intel.com/confirm.aspx?httpDown=http://downloadmirror.intel.com/20775/eng/infinst_autol.exe&lang=eng&Dwnldid=20775

:step2: Change power power plan to high performance.

Please read the excellent guide from below link and make sure power plan is set to "High performance".

http://www.eightforums.com/tutorials/5464-power-plan-settings-change-windows-8-a.html

This will prevent core system components to enter in to power saving mode. Extreme power saving options are meant for portable computers and absolutely not necessary in a desktop machine.

I can't find an entry for IRST and the driver didn't install anything. I should also tell you that this laptop has a SSD cache, but it doesn't show up in the task manager since this occured. http://www.asus.com/Notebooks_Ultrabooks/S56CM/#specifications

I'm really desperate because it takes so long to boot now since the HDD only powers up after a couple of minutes, which is really annoying.

Hi

I mistakenly thought your system as a desktop machine but it seems to be an Ultrabook which uses Intel Smart Response Technology and Intel Rapid Start Technology for fast system operation. Basically this setup uses a combination of SSD and HDD in RAID mode in which SSD serves as a cache between the system and HDD. Re-configuring the "smart respnce technology" is a little difficult. Before attempting to do that, we should resolve the BSOD issue first. Please download and install IRST driver to enable RAID function in your system.

https://downloadcenter.intel.com/confirm.aspx?httpDown=http://downloadmirror.intel.com/23060/a08/SetupRST.exe&lang=eng&Dwnldid=23060&ProductID=2101&keyword=Intel+Rapid+Storage+Technology+(Intel+RST)

This will probably update the current version of iastorA.sys to the latest. Report how the system works after updating the driver.

Installed the driver, but the system is still not stable. IRST's UI shows an empty internal port 1 underneath the system SATA hard drive and an ATAPI device (DVD drive).

Hi

Please try the below steps.

:step1: Load BIOS defaults.

Some Ultrabook models came with an option to disable Intel Smart Response in BIOS. Please enter BIOS setup and load default values. This will undo any accidental changes.

:step2: Configure Intel Smart  Response Technology.

Please read the below guide and try to re-configure Intel Smart Response Technology.
