So here's the thing. On my Latitude D820 running XP SP3, I open my DVD player software, put the DVD in the HL-DT-ST_CDRW/DVD_GCC4244 and click play. The DVD plays for a while, how long depends on the attitude of the Latitude, and then it stops and or kicks off. Displaying a dialogue box with this message:

You chose to end the nonresponsive program, AdvancedDVDPlayer MFC Application.

The program is not responding.

Please tell Microssoft about this problem.

I have tried using my Windows Media Player but the results are the same. I ran a diagnostic on the dvd-rom an everything indicates it is functioning properly. Can anyone tell me what the h is the problem and how I fix it? It is annoying to be at the good part and the thing kicks off.

I'd uninstall that program and use one more commonly used...product is no longer supported, current product is an "optimizer" :).
