I'm confused as to the question here-speedfan is used to control the fans inside your computer while most defrag. programs clean up your hard drive for better hard drive performance. The two programs do seperate jobs and can't really be compared to each other. I see no reason why you can't use both.

Defrag. programs more specifically rearrange the files and folders on your computer so that the computer can access them more quickly.
