So, I am in my beginning of programming and had to write a program that adds 2 int(s) and divides it by 2.

#include<iostream>
using namespace std;
int main()
{
    int first=0,last=6;
    cout<<((first+last)/2);
    return 0;
}

but upon running it, avast flags it as WIn32: Malware-gen

This is very odd to me, would anyone know why?

Thank in advance for commenting

The people at Avast would probably know why. All anyone here could do is speculate.

It depends on the compiler you are using. Besides avast! does not like unsigned files.

FYI, Avast now offers 24x7 phone support or you could submit your issue directly from the Avast "support" user interface. You have 3 options available and they are:

24x7 phone support

generate a support ticket

upload a false positive for review

Good luck.

Never said it was a problem. I was just trying to give you an avenue to learn why.
