I have a Dell laptop, and today the screen started dimming, and my battery is running down. I keep it plugged in so don't know what started this problem. Any help would be appreciated!

Try changing the power profile. Click the start button, and type "power options" in the search box. Try changing to balanced or high performance power scheme. Or look at the bottom for the screen brightness slider and asjust it accordingly.
